Zaimah is thrilled to confirm the appointment of Ridwana Wallace-Laher as its Director of Fundraising. The move is part of a wider restructuring and capability enhancement as the organisation has ambitious plans to grow from its humble beginnings.
Ridwana brings with her a decade of experience in the third sector having been involved with charitable organisations supporting disadvantaged communities worldwide having started her career as a secondary school teacher. This includes her recent role as Head of Fundraising at Penny Appeal, during which time she was instrumental in supporting the organisation raise £100 million over a 10-year period.
In her role, Ridwana will oversee all fundraising partnerships, major and corporate donors and as a member of the leadership team support the new 5-year strategy that seeks to ensure Zaimah has the best possible platform for future success.
Zaimah’s Chair of Trustees, Musaeen Qureshi said:

Ridwana has worked in complex humanitarian and contexts on the frontline, most recently responding to the Beirut blast and managed a large fundraising portfolio.
