Pay your Fidyah or Kaffarah 2026
Fidyah is payable for fasts missed due to ill health which cannot be made up afterwards for genuine reasons.
Kaffarah on the other hand is payable where fasts are broken without permissible reasons and the compensatory fasting of two months is not possible.

Examples for when Fidyah should be paid?
- Pregnant women who are unable to fast
- People with chronic illnesses, including mental illnesses
- People who experience short-term illness over the month of Ramadan
- People who need to continue taking their medication
- Elderly people who cannot fast
Examples for when Kaffarah should be paid?
- Intentionally eating food or drinking water
- Masturbation or sexual intercourse during fasting
- Intentionally making yourself throw up
- Planning or intending to deliberately miss fasts
- Deliberately hurting yourself or any other person or animal
